Omayari is an amalgam of empathy, compassion and concern.
In Japan, omayari is used to enhance group harmony.
There is no equivalent English word for omayari.

Empathy is a common thread that runs through all of my work despite
the variant mediums and subject matter I am drawn to.
My inspiration with omayari began at a lecture given by Dr. Juris G. Draguns
in New York City where he discussed empathy across cultures and contexts.

A few others he listed as inherent leaders in this arena are
Theodor Lipps, E.B.Titchener, Aristotle, Ernest Boesch, Carl Rogers,
Heinz Kohut, Alvin Mahrer, Michael Mahoney and Bohart & Greenberg.
